Terms of Use
Last updated
These terms cover the NRL Auctions website and mobile app. Using either means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.
What this is
NRL Auctions is a game you play with people you know. You create or join a league, run a live auction to build a roster of teams or countries, and score points from real tournament results. It is entertainment, provided free of charge.
Play money, not gambling
The auction budget is fictional. Nothing is deposited, wagered, won or paid out, there is no purchase of any kind inside the service, and the service takes no payment. Any prize a league sets for itself is arranged privately between its members; we are not party to it, do not hold anything, and take no responsibility for it.
Your account
You sign in with a code emailed to your address, so keep access to that mailbox and do not share the codes. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Give accurate contact details, be old enough to agree to these terms (13 or over), and use one account rather than several.
You can delete your account at any time from the account page or in the app — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that removes and what it keeps.
How to behave
Do not use the service to:
- harass, abuse or impersonate anyone — including in team names, which your whole league sees;
- break into accounts, probe or overload the service, or work around its rate limits;
- scrape it, resell it, or run it as part of another product;
- do anything unlawful with it.
League admins can invite and manage their own leagues. That is a role inside a game, not a position of authority over anyone's account.
Content you provide
You keep whatever rights you have in the names and text you enter. You give us permission to store and display them to the people in your leagues and in league emails, which is simply what the game does with them.
Results, commentary and availability
Scores and fixtures come from third-party sports data and can be late, wrong or revised. Match commentary and recaps are written by an AI persona and are entertainment — they are not reporting, and they are sometimes wrong about things that are not in the numbers they were given. Standings correct themselves when the underlying results do.
The service is provided as-is, with no promise of uptime. It may change, break, or go away. Drafts run in real time and a bad connection can cost you a bid; that is a property of playing a live game over the internet, and it is not something we can compensate for.
Suspension
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or that is being used to harm other players or the service.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising from a missed bid, a wrong score, an email that did not arrive, or the service being unavailable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the service means accepting the current version.
